Native to North America, Achillea (Yarrow) is said to have been used medicinally since before recorded history for everything from a dressing for warriors wounds to a refreshing herbal tea to a decongestant chest rub to a hair wash or rub for the prevention of hair loss (both his & hers).
Also used historically to brew beer where hops weren’t available. Does it work? I’ve never tried it. It is, however, a great garden plant that’s easy to grow in a dry, sunny spot that draws pollinators of all sorts.
